I think that the entire school canteen system is an absolute travesty, let alone that simple minded lil vending machine.
It is just incite to theft or black marketing (An idea which i have contemplated with the close vicinity of Sainsburys in mind.
With theft on topic, it seems to me like the catering company are thieving from us teens because we perhaps have a disposable income. Buy in bulk i say or sell non brand stuff that’s cheap and tastes pretty much the same.
Argh!

Well, call me cynical but in my eyes the school council has about as much power as John Prescott has since he did all that stuff. Of course if any member of the school council feels that this is not true, I’d be more than happy to hear their point of view.

yeah i mean comeon i am in year 10 so i can only get foods like chocolet and the more unhealthy food at breack and i dont get why ok so aparntly were a country of fat people and then people like jamie oliver come and recomend tht all vending machiens be turnd off at lunchtimes wich our school then dose as fast as possible but its from one extrem to another soon were going to be a country of mallnutrition ok im being a bit extrem but one idea is put healthy food and unhelthy in the same macchine but put the price of the helthy food way below the price of the unhelthy food

All of the vending machines are like that though.
Unfortunately, the school council doesn’t seem to have a big enough role to be able to change anything around the school.
The price of food has been queried though and results will be brought back to the forum.

There was Fairtrade choclate once in the mainschool canteen but it all got eaten and they didn’t get anymore. Welland park are trying to become a Fairtrade School, so it can’t be that hard!

I think the prices reflect the current health epidemic in schools that the media and Jamie Oliver have brought forward.

If anything, we should be getting vending machines with healthier (albeit slightly boring) food.

And another thing, would it really hurt that much to stock some fair trade chocolate in the vending machines??

To be fair, this article is only dealing with the actual vending meahcine, as oppose to the canteen as a whole. Though maybe that too is an area which needs addressing.

Yeah yeah yeah, I don’t go RSS anymore but I don’t know why you lot are complaining. RSS is one of the only schools in the county that actually still sells confectionary and all that ****. Beauchamp has a total ban on all food deemed ‘unhealthy’. Ah well, Sainsburys is round the corner, cheaper anyway and you can actually get some decent food in the process!

I had to pay a million pounds extra for cheese on my spagetti bolognese the other day (well, 20p) they’ll be charging for the serviettes next!!
